How to Test the Stab-Resistant Layer Sample

! Warning & Disclaimer

Saeff® garments are not stab-proof, bulletproof, or invulnerable. They are designed to help reduce risk by slowing or dispersing the force of certain low to medium impact threats.

Keep hands, body, and others at a safe distance at all times.

Materials Needed

  • Two-part sample swatch (one side with a stab-resistant layer, one without)
  • Meat loaf, meat chunk, or similar soft item to simulate body density
  • Stable table or workbench capable of withstanding impact
  • A suitable knife for testing
  • Protective covering for the tabletop and appropriate personal protection for hands and body

Testing

  • Place the meat or similar soft item on a stable surface.
  • Lay the sample swatch flat on top (test each section for comparison).
  • Ensure the setup is stable and will not move during testing.
  • Hold the knife firmly and apply moderate, controlled downward pressure.

*Do not use excessive force, as the protective layer is not stab-proof.

Important Notes

  • This is a basic demonstration, not a certified measurement. Real-world situations are unpredictable and may involve different conditions.
  • Always pair protective gear with situational awareness and safe practices.
